Free to attend. \n\n\n\nEight days after one of the most contentious elections in history\, please join us for a discussion of the outcome (if known!) and the outlook for Minnesota's business community and manufacturing industry.  Laura Bordelon\, the Minnesota Chamber's senior vice president for advocacy\, will highlight the results and preview the business community priorities for the 2021 Legislative Session. \n\n\n\nLaura will also touch on the recent legislative victory for Minnesota businesses with the passage of Section 179 federal conformity\, along with the bonding bill in October\, which will provide important tax relief to capital intensive businesses.  AMFA has been a part of the Chamber's "Invest in Minnesota" Coalition.  \n\n\n\n\n\nLaura Bordelon\, Sr. Vice President\, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce\n\nLaura Bordelon is senior vice president for advocacy at the MN Chamber of Commerce\, a position she has held since November 2011.  In her role\, she leads the organization's public policy\, grassroots and political engagement strategies.   \n\n\n\nShe directed the Minnesota Chamber's education\, telecommunications and energy policy from 2000-2004.  She was a policy director for Governor Tim Pawlenty from 2004 to 2005 and then was named director of legislative and cabinet affairs in 2006.  She most recently was director of corporate state government affairs for Medtronic Inc. \n\n \n\nLaura graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota. Her community involvement includes being a board member of the Minnesota Government Relations Council and the Minnesota Zoo.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVirtual Tour of Fraser Shipyards - NECO Solutions in Superior\, Wisconsin\n\nJim Petruga from Fraser Shipyards\, a long time AMFA member\, will take us on a fascinating virtual tour of a Lake Superior shipyard that claims maritime expertise since 1888.
