SUMMARY:CMMA April CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:CMMA breakfast meeting in Avon CANCELLED due to COVID-19\n\n\n\n\n\nCMMA Breakfast Meeting in Avon - Presentation on EEOC Guidelines\, followed by a Tour at Midsota Manufacturing\n\n\n\nSpeaker: Dick Owen\, President\, FairChanceEmployer.com\n\nUnderstanding EEOC Guidelines and Hiring Ex-Offenders\n\nThis is a great opportunity for your HR reps to attend!\n\nFairChanceEmployer.com exists to help organizations navigate the complicated world of considering an ex-offender for employment. This is difficult because most organizations do not understand the EEOC guidelines\, how to do document that these guidelines have been followed and how best to protect the organization from a negligent hire lawsuit.\n\n \n\nUp until now\, no HR entity has been able to deliver a blueprint\, or process\, to satisfy all of these concerns. After over a year of research they have created a website that addresses all of these issues as well as offering several related time saving tools for the organization. His presentation will cover topics such as:\n\n\n	What are the Ground Rules for a Fair Chance Process?\n	How to document compliance with the 4 EEOC "Green Rules"\n	How to navigate the "Severity of the Crime" requirement\n	What about Negligent Hire Concerns?\n	How to discover if there are Federal or State hiring limitations for my industry\n	State and Federal incentives to hiring this population \n	How FairChanceEmployer.com provides a low cost\, easy to use process to better evaluate these candidates while providing all the documentation needed to protect the organization.\n\nTour: \n\n\n\nMidsota Manufacturing\, Inc. | Avon\n\nMidsota Manufacturing has come quite a long way from their roots of a welding company started in a garage in Albany\, Minnesota in 1971.\n\nInitially called Sands Welding Incorporated\, the company was renamed in 2002 to Midsota Manufacturing Inc. and was well on its way to the company it is today. Midsota Manufacturing began to grow and recognized the need for company expansion. In 2005\, the company was moved to a larger facility Avon\, MN.\n\nContinued growth again had Midsota busting at the seams in their 404 County Road 50 facility in Avon. In May of 2014\, Midsota purchased a second facility in Avon directly across Interstate 94 from their current location. In 2018\, Midsota completed construction on another facility at their newly purchased site. These 2 expansions have added over 80\,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Midsota now uses all three facilities to manufacture some of the best trailers in the industry!\n\nOwners\, Tim Burg and Joel Bauer have many years of experience in the trailer industry\, making them very knowledgeable and ready to help customers get the right trailers for every need!\n\nMidsota has continually improved\, automating the production process with state of the art equipment and knowledgable employees. Today\, there are over 100 extremely loyal and skilled employees which is one of the major strengths of Midsota.\n\nThese days\, Midsota has continued to be the leader in changing with the dynamic trailer industry\; continually trying to expand customer base\, while still staying true to their "smalltown roots." Having customers in many states and Canadian Provinces\, they hope to continue to expand in coming years. The goal for the coming years is to continue producing high quality innovative products\, while still keeping the small business feel and customer satisfaction that started over 45 years ago.\n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: Park in the parking lot across from the 310 Blattner Drive office and use the entrance on the west end of the 314 Blattner Drive manufacturing facility.
