SUMMARY:CMMA Manufacturing CTE Jamboree!
DESCRIPTION:CMMA Manufacturing CTE Jamboree at ROCORI High School on October 21\n\n\nCMMA is excited to host our second annual Manufacturing CTE Jamboree! The CTE (Career and Technical Education) Jamboree is intended to close the gap between education and industry. The event features an experienced lineup of speakers that are active in CTE in Minnesota. Following the presentations\, join us for a tour of Coldspring (a premier sponsor of this event!) or ROCORI High School CTE facilities. \n\n\n\nThe CTE Jamboree will focus on creating viable partnerships between education and manufacturing. More school-centric than most CMMA meetings\, attendees will learn about best practices in promoting manufacturing careers in a K12 setting\, learn how best to forge relationships between industry and education\, learn about grant funded opportunities\, and more.\n\n\nSchool board members\, superintendents\, principals\, counselors and CTE teachers are invited to attend. Manufacturers are invited to attend. CMMA recommends that you take a "team approach" - educators and manufacturers from the same community are encouraged to hear the information together. Is YOUR school/community ready to invest in the CTE focus that is taking place in education right now? The format will allow local manufacturers and educators to interact and envision programs and partnerships. \n\n\n\nSpeaker Lineup:\n\nSteve Grove\, Commissioner\, MN Dept of Employment & Economic Development (DEED)\n\n -A salute to manufacturers during October Manufacturing Month!\n\nLes Engel\, Owner\, Engel Metallurgical\; CMMA President\n\n -Welcome and CMMA Workforce Initiatives\n\nLuke Greiner\, MN Dept of Employment & Economic Development (DEED)\n\n -Job Market Review and Outlook/LMI Career Wheel\n\nGreg Flint\, President\, Coldspring\n\n -Discovery Academy\n\nTim Barrett\, MN Dept of Education (MDE)\n\n -CTE Licensure/Program Development\n\nJessica Lipa\, Anoka-Hennepin Technical College\n\n -Anoka-Hennepin CTE\n\n \nAs is CMMA's policy for general meetings and tours\, all K12 school representatives are invited to attend at no cost\; registration is required. \n\n\nTOURS:\n\nFollowing the presentations\, attendees can choose between two TOUR options: Coldspring or ROCORI CTE facilities.\n\n\n\nTour Coldspring\n\n\n\nColdspring is a leading bronze manufacturer\, natural stone fabricator\, and quarrier of all types of natural stone in North America.\n\n\n\nTour ROCORI High School CTE facilities
