DESCRIPTION:As part of its "Great Jobs Without a Four-Year Degree" project\, Center of the American Experiment   in partnership with the National Association of Manufacturers\, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce\, Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association\, and RealTime Talent   will host a solutions-focused symposium aimed at better equipping manufacturers with tools and strategies for informing students\, parents\, and others of excellent job and career opportunities in modern manufacturing.  \n\n \n\nKeynoter Gardner Carrick\, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Manufacturing Institute\, will discuss promising tools and strategies from a variety of states. He also will explore innovative programs gaining momentum here in Minnesota. Such activities are especially important since many companies are increasingly turning to internal training programs for attracting\, developing\, and retaining new talent. \n\nTwo expert panels will follow Mr. Carrick's remarks\, including Sean A. Miller of 3M\, David Ahlers of Graco\, Valerie Bentdahl of Jones Metal Inc\, Tim Walker of Pequot Tool\, and E.J. Daigle of Dunwoody College. The first will feature Minnesota manufacturers pursuing innovative initiatives to attract talent\, with the second featuring companies that are developing their own talent in creative and highly effective ways. After the panels\, there will be round-table sessions designed to help manufacturers explore tools and strategies to help them accelerate their own attraction and development efforts.
