SUMMARY:Preparing the Next Generation of Skilled Talent for Manufacturers
DESCRIPTION:St. Cloud Area School District 742 and GSDC would like to invite you to attend a special information session presentation regarding an exciting program coming to Apollo partnering with NASA and HUNCH providing incredible opportunities for students to engage and prepare for skilled careers in manufacturing. The best part is employers are the educators! What a wonderful opportunity to engage with our local schools and future workforce!\n\n \n\nThe event takes place on October 22nd at Apollo High School. RSVP is required so time is limited.\n\n \n\nWe hope to see you there!\n\n\n\nThe presentation will be highlighting two nationally-recognized manufacturing education programs. Both the SME PRIME and the NASA HUNCH programs provide incredible opportunities for students to prepare for skilled careers in manufacturing. Apollo High School is seeking to implement a pilot program to prepare its students to become Central Minnesota's future manufacturing workforce. Representatives from the SME Education Foundation and NASA will present their SME PRIME (Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education) and HUNCH (High schools United with NASA to Create Hardware) programs. The two programs work in tandem to offer incredible opportunities for students. The SME PRIME model is built to engage local manufacturers to determine workforce assessments that will tailor the future curricula\, equipment and skills training requirements for local students enrolled in this program. The NASA HUNCH program facilitates direct participation from high school students in the design and manufacturing of real products used on the ISS (International Space Station) and astronaut training centers in Florida and Texas. NASA HUNCH and SME PRIME are mutually beneficial programs\, and together\, have the potential to create a tangible source of talent for our region.\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP by Friday\, October 19th to megan.daniel@isd742.org or by phone: (320) 370-8065.
